After Endara left and Veritas was left "on his own" with the army, his eagerness to please his father as well as his own bloodlust paid off. He has a good relationship with his dad and is his father's favorite son. Veritas is afraid of nothing, fights hard, trains hard, and takes orders well. The perfect soldier for his father. He is on decent terms with Anaxus and Tavir, bad terms with Ryzon and Strenna, and Vootru is dead to him. At one time he knew someone named Endara but she's only a memory now. Strange how one can go from inseparable to but a ghost.
The Ice Pick. A new name. A new title. Veritas earned it though. As a berserker, he used his claws, teeth, and body viciously against his enemies. Lurking in the snow, and becoming a force in the mountains of Ilahaesa, and beyond. Who started the name, no one really knows. It crept into existence like the cold itself until all could recognize it. Now he even thinks of himself that way. There are perhaps only 5 ketucari in existence who would call him something besides Icepick, and only one of them is worth his time.
As the years press on The Icepick begins to feel a new kind of emotion. One that slowly crept in from the darkness. Jealousy. His father no longer pays him special attention. He has new half-siblings that take up most of his father's time when the general army doesn't. The Icepick is ever the loyal son and pitiless fighter, scourge of the mountains, and yet he still competes with children for the love his father cannot give. Beyond that, the new general (Devour) has struck such a quick and easy bond with Tidalwave that The Icepick is even jealous of him. Though they're the same rank, The Icepick had always thought he would eventually be his father's right hand man... his ONLY second in command. Every where he looks, more and more obstacles get in his way, and he can't tackle these with claws and teeth.
