Good enough

Tidalwave deposited a small bundle in the snow. The bundle shivered, unaccustomed to the cold.

Inquisitive as always, Khylus wandered over to take a look.

The Icepick kept his distance. He didn't need to creep closer to know what that was. Tidalwave seemed smugly content with himself and began to walk away, leaving the new cub with his sons. The Icepick's lip curled. A snarl started in the back of his throat and ended up springing forth after his father. 

"What is this" his head was low, teeth bared. He gestured at the blue and green cub in the snow. 

Tidalwave raised an eyebrow "that" he said icily "is your sister." The blue toa shot his son a disapproving look. 

The Icepick growled, bringing himself up to his full height. "Am I not good enough for you?  I have done everything you have ever asked. I have been everything you wanted of me. And this is how you repay me?"

Tidalwave shook his head. "You have done well. And you will continue to do well, but once there were seven of you. If these new cubs turn out to be half the fighter you are, I will be content. But I need more. You alone cannot do what I need." 

The blue toa turned away, leaving his son fuming in the snow. His words were not exactly reassuring. 

Touching noses with the blue and green cub, Khylus piped up "I've always wanted a little sister!"

The look The Icepick shot him could've shattered bone.
