Bijou's parents were so deeply in debt that they pawned him off as soon as he were grown enough to survive without his mother. Bandit, his new owner, were a wealthy and narcissistic ket who simply wanted to be tended to at all times and she found an easily moldable cub was a good path to go. However seeing as she had no intent on training the boy herself she shipped him off to a courtesan's school in the Singing Vale as soon as he were old enough. Up untill then he had been kept under strict control by Bandit's main servant, Pygmy.

When he entered the school he soon after met Precious and Pearl, two students around the same age as himself, and they all quickly became friends. Precious acting as the dependable voice of reason within the group, while Pearl took the role of the mischiveous trouble maker. As time passed it was evident to everyone around Bijou that the school as well as his new friends had a clear and direct affect on his personality. The once reserved cub had grown into a handsome and dignified adult. With a good handle on etiquette, nice manners, a charming smile that could make anyone swoon and a shining pelt that attracted more than one suitor to his hand. Ayyubid, or Athar as she prefered he called her, were among said suitors. A lovely lady from a kingdom far away, with a desperate need for something calm and honest. They were often found walking around in the large garden behind the school chatting or having a nice picnic by the pond. Soon after Athar begun frequently visiting; Bijou begun dressing up more and more and it quickly became clear that his ladyfriend were showering him with expensive jewelry and fancy trinkets. However seeing as he technically didn't own himself and everything he earned were given to his owner, Pearl took it upon himself to teach him how to stash things away. Much to Precious dismay.
