Cam keeps a back of unusual canines as her constant companions. To her, they are her pack. These canines are pretty unusual, and don't appear to be from this planet. How she came to be their packmother is a story she has yet to tell.  Due to her unusual pack, she avoids most of civilization, period. She had a bad experience in a Messus city with officials trying to take her pack, and hasn't returned since.

Before she became Packmother, she already shunned most of ketucari society. Killing gods and other sentient beings for profit, instead of defense and preservation of others, always rubbed her the wrong way. She kills to sustain herself and her pack, and self defense.
