STREAK

Examples

Basics

Bullet; White Streak is a thin dark lateral line going down the ketucari’s side from armpit to tail tip
Bullet; White In your ketucari’s genotype, Streak is denoted by “nSrk” (heterozygous) or “SrkSrk” (homozygous)
Bullet; White In its heterozygous form, Streak has a passrate of 55%. Homozygous streak has a passrate of 80%

Color and ShapE

Streak displays as a very thin horizontal line sitting on the border of the belly-markings and back markings.
It may go below or atop the legs, and may have a few small breaks.

Streak must be a darker color of your chosen base, with a minor deviation in hue. It can also be a fully desaturated color of the base, as long as it is darker. Streak may be pure black.

These colors would be acceptable for this base color. They are either a darker version of the base, or a darker and desaturated version of the base. The last color on the right shows a minor deviation in hue, and is slightly more yellow than the base itself. Notice that this small change is not overbearing.

These colors would be unacceptable for streak. They are either lighter than the base coat or have too drastic a hue shift.

Streak should be a dark band along the side, such as in the examples below:

Range

There is no minimum for streak, but it must always be visible (unless a white marking covers it). Green represents maximum thickness and range, blue represents where the gene can present.

Interactions with Other Markings

Streak must go over Washout, Tarpit, Mud, Mantle, and Shell
Streak cannot be used to fake a hard edge on Pangare, Void, Dusted, Sable, or Roan

Trailing Streak

When Streak and Trailing are on the same geno, Streak may optionally take the rules for trailing’s range (sort of) and thickness. Trailing Streak may also take on an accent color if Ray is present, much like trailing itself. Essentially this makes Streak take the entire length of the ket at about double the thickness.

Streaked Skink

When Streak and Skink are on the same geno, they may combine to add pale stripes. These stripes must be lighter than the base coat OR a lighter and more desaturated shade of the accent stripes.

Stamped Streaks

When Stamped and Streak are present on the same geno, Streaks gains an altered maximum range, and can be made of interlacing shapes, both filled and outlined. These shapes must obey the rules of Stamped.

Accents

Here are some small accents you can add to your designs to make them more unique!
