Halos
Examples
Basics
Halos is a modifying gene that allows you to put a rim around any marking.
In your ketucari’s genotype, Halos is denoted by “nHal” (heterozygous) or HalHal” (homozygous)
In its heterozygous form, Halos has a passrate of 45%. Homozygous halos has a passrate of 70%
Color and shape
Halos can restrict to any singular marking. It creates a rim around its chosen marking with the same edgetype, or hardness.
This rim should be readily visible, and no thicker than a max-width Lacing if hard edged or max width Acid if soft edged.
This rim should encapsulate at least 70% of the marking. It may attach to combination markings, such as Marble+Brindle.
Below are some examples of each.
Lighter than base halo around a naturally halo'd Marble:
Pulling from Washout haloed Frill
Pulling from Partial's Washout Haloed Mantle. Notice it maintains color across both bases.
Darker than base halo around piebald
Interactions with Other Markings
Halos and Lycaon do not interact in a normal way: instead of affecting the outer rim of Lycaon, Halos affects the inner rim. In this case the halo cannot be larger than 20px wide at the largest.
When paired with Wrought and Noisy Wrought, it can remove the halo or colorize the halo.
When paired with Monarch, allows the outline to be Lighter than the basecoat or any color elsewise present on the ketucari.
When paired with Brindle, allows the Brindling to be both lighter AND darker than the basecoat, more closely resembling the marking in realworld animals.
It Cannot affect the same marking as Shatter
When paired with Radiance, may be any color.
It Cannot restrict to the following markings:
Vitiligo
Calacatta
Roan
Merle
Bleaching / Intensify
Fading / Charring
Silvering
Partial
Chimera / Lintosi / Tri-Lintosi
Karpati
Jovian
Haze
