Luminous

Examples

Glaecalum

 Basics

Luminous is a mutation that allows the entire ketucari to glow from either the base or the markings
In your ketucari's genotype, Luminous is denoted by the letters "nLum" (heterozygous) or "LumLum" (homozygous).
In its heterozygous form, Luminous has a pass rate of 10%. Homozygous Luminous has a 35% pass rate.
Luminous does not change the color rules of any markings, however like chromata it does require an alt form to be submitted along with the main design to showcase the glows.

Designing Rules

Luminous in its heterozygous form allows either the ketucari's basecoat to glow, or the markings.
Homozygous allows both the basecoat and markings to glow. However this is optionaland you amy still do just one or the other.
There are some markings that are classified as "basecoat" for the purposes of luminous. They are Shimmer, Glass, Antiqued, Bleaching, Somatic, Thermal, Roan, Haze, Intensify, Merle, White Marks in general, and Silvering. If need be, more will be added to this list. Note that if luster is restricted to a marking, that marking may still glow.
Luminous does not allow the skin, eyes, or claws to glow by default. To have eyes and skin glow the glow paste item is still needed
Horns are allowed to show the glow from either the 'base' side or from any markings present on horns if the markings are being affected by luminous. The same is true for garoch plates.
The glow alt must be enough that admins can notice it, and is allowed to show off of the ketucari's import to showcase the intensity of the glows. You're also allowed to darken the areas not affected by luminous by up to 50%. This includes the import background. Note that the darker areas are not the actual colors of the ketucari changing, it's only meant to help show the glow. These cannot be so dark that they cause eyestrain.

Examples

Glaecalum's glow alt here showcases luminous affecting just the markings. Note where thermal is affecting the base coat and plates, it doesn't glow, but the markings that show through thermal do still glow.
