Relationships

Relatives: Oreki (grandmother), Asli (father), Unknown (mother, deceased), Anti, Seijalka (uncles), Arevalous, Kalet (aunts), Xaeros (mate), Ezekiel, Velenorte, Madukaar (children)

Notable Relationships

Oreki: Oreki has a deep respect and affection for Kohtoyasa, who she views as being far more competent than Asli. Oreki sees Kohto as the best possible leader for Velukaelo's pantheon. It was Oreki who made Kohto a full-fledged goddess by giving her some of her own power.

Anti: Anti dislikes Kohto because of her association with Asli, but Kohto does not show blatant hostility toward Anti. She does try to thwart him when he's causing too much destruction, she generally stays out of his way and lets her father handle him. She speaks to him respectfully no matter how nasty he gets with her, which sometimes frustrates him.

Shura: Kohto has a friendly relationship with Anti's mate. This is mostly because of the conditions set forth when the gods created the bridge to the otherworld, stating that they cannot cause harm to one another's planets. Since Shura doesn't cause trouble on Velukaelo, Kohto has no quarrel with her and even entrusted her with Anti's original third eye.

Asli: Kohto is Asli's daughter with a mortal woman. Though he wasn't present every day of her childhood, he did visit Kohto enough that she was well aware of her divine ancestry. When she was a preteen, Asli arranged for her to go live on Mount Vitian and learn how to control her power with the teachings of the titans. As he was coming upon a period of hibernation, he could not do this himself. Though he missed out on a large part of Kohto's early life due to his dormant period, Asli later reconnected with her and built a relationship with her. He loves Kohto dearly.

Xaeros: Xaeros is a time god from the otherworld. He is far older than Kohto, but the two enjoy a stable and loving relationship. Kohto met him around the time she first became the head of Velukaelo's pantheon and has learned much from him. Even though he can be quite quirky, she is very much in love with him.

Personality

Alignment: True neutral (Neutral)
Personality: Kohto seems to be the perfect mixture of her father and grandmother. Her calm demeanor and natural leadership ability is backed by a drive to get things done, subtle ferocity, and a mostly unbiased viewpoint. She strives to see all sides of things, not because she is naturally balanced, but because she consciously makes an effort to be objective. She is known for being extremely reasonable and adept at mediating conflict.

History

Kohto's mother was a human woman who lived in early Messus before the Machine War. Kohto was not the product of a committed relationship and, after finding out who Asli was, her mother did not want her life disrupted by being involved with gods. Kohto spent her childhood in the care of her grandmother with occasional visits from Asli. After her grandmother died, Asli sent her to live with the titans Cronus, Hyperion, and Okianis on Mount Vitian. Here she learned how to control her abilities and accompanied the titans on numerous errands where she learned how to interact with other people, especially powerful people. When she grew old enough, she began to take on part of their workload and become more visible to the public eye. The titans were pleasantly surprised to find how well she did, and how positively those she dealt with responded to her.

When Oreki returned to Velukaelo in secret to see how it was fairing, one of the first things she noticed was the work of her granddaughter. Vastly impressed, she introduced herself to Kohtoyasa and gave her her blessing. Kohto's actions after the Machine War concerning ketucari can be found in World Lore. It wasn't until after the Machine War that Kohto took on the official position as Velukaelo's new sovereign deity and queen of the gods, bringing more stability to the planet than it had enjoyed previously due to Asli's periods of dormancy.
