First and foremost, cubs from the orphanage may only be adopted by players who are completely new to the group. This means you may not have any ketucari, designed or undesigned, and no slots to ketucari. 

Your account must be verified and linked to either a DeviantArt or Toyhouse account in order to adopt a cub.  Your linked account must have signs of activity to ensure that there is no fishy business going on. We just need some signs that you're not using a throwaway-- a dA account older than one month old, a Toyhouse account with characters and/or bulletins, or simply some participation in our Discord are all viable options! 

 You may only adopt one free cub from the orphanage, so choose wisely! Any further adoptions will require spending one Foundling Amulet, obtainable via legendary armorsmithing.  Amulets are also the only way for non-newbies to adopt from the orphanage.

The cub you adopt may not be sold or traded (this includes being given away!) until they have been uploaded (if applicable) and have at least 5 activity pieces to their name. While this might seem like a lot, please know that this is to keep people from abusing the fact that these cubs are free to immediately turn a profit. If you decide after receiving the ketucari that you no longer want it, you may submit it back to the adoption center, though you will not receive a reward. Imports available through the Orphanage will have the "Orphanage Adoption" note applied to their health status and selling/trading/gifting disabled. The same will be applied to genotypes once uploaded. Once the ketucari has the five activity pieces neccessary, simply send in a claim with a link to your ketucari and the five pieces and an admin will clear the note and enable the ketucari to be traded.

How to Adopt

In order to maintain these frequently-updated sheets, we have split the orphanage into two! Both can be found below (note: these are offsite links).

The first is our selection of predesigned imports. These are already approved, meaning that you can go straight into participating in the game. However, their availability will be dependent on the free time of the admins creating the designs! 

If there are no predesigned imports available, or you want to design your own character, you can peruse the genotype sheet, which will be periodically restocked with undesigned genotypes. These genotypes will need to be designed in keeping with our Design Rules and submitted to Design Approval once complete. (We usually have multiple users willing to do designs for hire in our Discord, as well, if you want to comission something a little more personalized!)

For predesigned imports: Once you've picked the ketucari you want, click the link in their information box that says "Adopt Here!". Simply comment "Claimed!" to have them transferred to you.

For undesigned genotypes: Peruse the public Orphanage sheet and comment in the appropriate thread with the Orphan ID# of your desired cub, found in the lefthand column. The genotype will then be transferred to you.

For a predesigned import, you can start participating in the game the moment the ketucari is officially transferred to your onsite account! For undesigned genotypes, you will need to go through the Design Approval process first, like any other genotype. Once the design is approved, you're up and running! We hope you have fun with our game!

Surrendering Unwanted Genotypes or Ketucari

 If you have unwanted genotypes from breeding, or unwanted ketucari in general, you may surrender them to the Orphanage and they'll find a new home with a new member!

Leave a comment at the Orphanage Drop-Off with the genotype you're giving up as well as proof of ownership. 

 You may use the Ketucari Orphanage Calculator to find the trade-in value for your ketucari. Trade-in values are as follows:

- Base trade-in value (applies to all trade-ins): 5 Gold
- Every common gene: 1 Gold
- Every uncommon gene (includes builds other than Standard and horns): 5 Gold
- A Buff or Charcoal family base coat: 5 gold
- Every rare gene: 20 Gold
- Feather type besides smooth: 40 Gold

Additionally, if you make and donate a design to be used to create an import for your donated ketucari, you can recieve an additional 5 LP. Additional bonuses:

-The geno has six or more genes (excluding Vivid, Dilute, and Tint): 5 LP
-The geno has Chromata and both colors are provided: 5 LP

In order to be eligible for the bonus LP, you must provide both .png and .psd (or other layered file format) files for your design and agree to allow an admin to potentially edit it if need be if corrections need to be made to comply with Design Approval rules.  

Donation and adoption FAQ

Q: How often will preapproved imports be made available?

A: We unfortunately cannot provide an estimate for how frequently designs will be offered. They will posted in batches, and notice will be made both on the Site News and in our Discord server when a new batch is available. If there are no imports available, there will be undesigned genotypes! The imports are solely to help folks who cannot make designs of their own or wish to join the game a little bit faster.

Q: Can I redesign a predesigned import if I don't like the design? 

A: Yes. However, you will need to purchase a Redesign Token from the Marketplace in order to do so. We encourage players who value designing their own characters to adopt a genotype instead! 

Q: Can I use import editing items on my Orphanage geno? 

A: Yes! Orphanage genotypes have no special restrictions-- however, due to crafting and activities requiring a Ketucari to participate, you will likely need to arrange a deal with an established member to obtain them for your first Ketucari. 

Q: I want to edit my import! Are the PSDs for the adoptable imports available?

A: We cannot guarantee the availability of PSDs for imports. While our designers will try to provide them when we can, things may happen! In particular, we may not have the PSDs for designs by retired admins or donated by users. In those cases, we suggest attempting to contact the original designer directly.

Q: I dropped off a genotype, but I don't see it in the sheet. How long will it be until it becomes available for adoption?

A: In order to have a pool of genotypes for our admins to design for imports, not every genotype in the Orphanage is up for immediate adoption. Priority is being given to older genotypes, but as they are adopted the sheet will be restocked with newer unclaimed genotypes.
