Plague bears a heavy mantle. One day they awoke from an incredibly vivid dream to find that apparently the conversations they'd had in the night had not merely been a fantasy cooked up by their subconscious. Left next to them, gifted from the aether, was a scroll. It was a magical item containing a list that shifted as you tilted the page. In the list were names, and just like that Plague had accidentally accepted the role of reaper. 

Though he's been at the job for many years, Plague attempts to keep a cheery attitude. His conscience has taken a toll and he carries a deep underlying sombreness, and he masks this overwhelming feeling with positivity, though it's easy to see how weary he is. Most wouldn't call him by any name, and even fewer would remember him from a time before he took up his mantle. Those who do may refer to him as Mort- his birth name. Everyone else would likely refer to him by something relating to his task. Though the task at hand is never ending, Plague is diligent and committed. Accident or not, they're a man of their word and at least they've had the opportunity to travel the world on the job.
