Has never had a friend in his life so he does not yet understand friendship or loyalty. Not just yet. He survived by being the Akardi's obedient plaything and has only ever know slavery. He wants freedom but it terrifies him. Is a very good lackey but he is 'loyal' only out of fear. No one has ever tried to win his actual trust and loyalty. No one aside from Apache. A ket he was jealous of as a slave and one he does not get. Scarlett has a particular hold on him and he is inclined to listen to her, usually.
