Youngest in the litter, Amata was a little bundle of hope and love and optimism. He adored his parents and siblings, and usually tailed after Chiyo.
Until his father was murdered and his brother disappeared. Suddenly aware of the harsh cruelties of the world, Amata turned inward and began pulling away from the family.

Back then, he was lured back into contact with the promise of science, of math and chemicals and physics.
It was that same lure that pulled him away again, recruited by a foreign lab, where he quickly found that his scientific contributions were used for ill purposes. He destroyed his own research, fled into the night and returned home, now bitter and jaded.
How fortunate for him that a friendly kadin picked him up at the bar one night, and Saved him.

Flirty, friendly, charming, and seemingly physically incapable of going two sentences without spouting an innuendo or three, Amata puts on a fabulous, flashy display of emotion at all times. Secretly, he's a crybaby.
Less secretly, he doesn't actually like people. Ketucari, akadri, heldyr, doesn't matter. His opinion on them all is quite low.

 

Prior to her death, Amata and Chiyo were quite close and he usually followed her around and confided in her about his true feelings.
He and Toshi were mostly cordial before Toshi's disappearence, but since Toshi's return their mutual reaction to each other is best described as "hissing alleycats".
He and Hinoka get along like oil and water, with vicious sibling bickering. The assumption is that Amata is jealous of Hinoka for stealing his "baby" status, but really it's just that they rub each other the wrong way.
