It's been a hot minute!
Life circumstances have resulted in our admin team shrinking to below what we need to keep the group running smoothly. As such we're looking for new rollers!
In particular we are seeking:
-An additional Adventure roller
-An additional Battle roller
-An addittonal Breeding roller
-An additional person who can keep an eye on deviant art things while we work on transferring stuff over to Lorekeeper. (Bonding, Hoard, Renowned/Elders)
You can apply for any of the positions as desired!
We will not necessarily hire a person per job, as we enjoy keeping the team small, but it's become clear we need more hands.
Requirements
- You must have a Discord account to join the admin and group Discords. Discord presence is required.
- You must have been an active group member for at least one month. This does include in the past.
- You must be able to interact with players and admins in a professional manner.
- If you are hired you must be willing to have discussions with fellow admins, and communicate your availability to the best of your ability.
- You must not have any current strikes on your account.
- Repeating, for emphasis, you must have actual experience playing Ketucari. We are not accepting Newbies at this time.

Current Events
Singing Vale Raid Soon
The Singing Vale is at 201/250 points towards a raid at time of writing this - a raid will be happening somewhat soon! Get your ketucari's skills and armor ready to take on Hianlian! Remember that Hianlian's attacks will be scaled to your ketucari's armor, so even low-armor ketucari can enter - armor does affect some things, however, such as amount healed!
Broken Images
We are aware that many images are broken in guides and zone pages and the like - deviantArt changed the tokens in art that was somewhat older (maybe 2+ years old? unsure) and a lot of linked images broke as a result, whether stashed or posted. Someone will be going through and fixing them soon, we just need to find the time. Please bear with us!

The Veluchasm Festival!

We have drinks, streamers, sparklers, and aliens, no matter which world you’re celebrating on! The denizens of Velukaelo and those of the Chasm-Connected worlds have been aware of each other for years, and our celebration is back and better than ever!
While Ketucari and Rixixi have had relationships every now and again, something new has started to spring up - a hybrid species referred to as the Ketixi! With the help of B-NOMALY mechanic Steele and expert engineer Kenkasei, the B-NOMALY’s breeding safety machine was altered with tarn water to safely join the genes of Rixixi and Ketucari while filtering out all sorts of possible issues. While it is possible to create a Ketixi naturally, it is rare, so we recommend use of the machine!
Something else new has cropped up again - with further experiments to the breeding safety machine, Ketucari and B-NOMALIES have been able to hybridize into what passes as a bipedal companion on Velukaelo and a subtype of B-NOMALY in the Chasm! KETU-NOMALIES stand mostly bipedally, and have a few K-NOM specific traits such as Godkiller Face and Godkiller Hands due to their heritage!
Species Information: Ketixi
Other Feather Types: Bald | Fantail | Frizzle | Harpy | Jacobin | Lucerne | Nicobar | Phoenix | Silkie
A hybrid of Ketucari and Rixixi, Ketixi are bulky, muscular quadrupeds. Appearing similar to a combination of a Primal subspecies of Rixixi and a Ketucari no matter their actual Rixixi heritage, they primarily stand on four legs, but can walk in a bipedal stance for a short time, similar to ursines. Much like Rixixi, the Ketixi breathes through a vent system, visible on their sides. Much like Ketucari, they have a combination of fur and feathers covering their body, and their frill - both spiked and leathery as well as covered in feathers - is extremely expressive.
They are approximately the size of a Standard build Ketucari, standing 16-20 hands tall at the shoulder. Rixixi commonly measure their quadrupeds by length, and Ketixi are comparable to a large Primal, measuring 12-16 feet long from snout to tailtip on average.
Ketixi are all some form of intersex due to their Rixixi heritage. Due in part to their unusual heritage, they are all sterile.
Species Information: KETU-NOMALY
A hybrid of Ketucari and B-NOMALY, KETU-NOMALIES are classed as a subtype of B-NOMALY in the Chasm-Connected worlds, and as a bipedal companion in Velukaelo. Standing at around 3 feet tall (unless altered by mutations such as Giant, Dragon Body Type, or Always Anthro), these hybrids have B-NOMALY bodies and mutations, while bearing Ketucari-like faces (albeit with a second mouth covered in a beak like a B-NOMALY) and Ketucari-like hands, as well as modified B-NOMALY tails that appear closer to typical Ketucari tails.
Regardless of heritage, their Ketucari traits always appear similarly to standard Ketucari. They have access to all B-NOMALY mutations including Fogholder.
Despite their interspecies heritage, K-NOMs can breed, but only with other B-NOMALIES.
When filling out a form to create a KETU-NOMALY companion, please include both the Companion Race form and the B-NOMALY traits used.
Ketixi Breeding
Each player can enter ONE KETUCARI and ONE RIXIXI into a breeding to get one Ketixi geno per breeding! Ketucari and Rixixi must both be breedable (or a starter) for this event, but the breedings will not reduce their total slots!
To enter a starter, you must do at least a colored headshot or 100 words of that starter!
You have 1 Breeding by default! By entering 2 of the main events and the advertising bonus here, you may obtain up to 3 additional breedings!
Breedings will not be subject to Matriarch Kills or infertility penalties. Breedings will be subject to radiation sickness and inbreeding penalties if relevant. Breeding boosters may not be used. Rixixi are considered to have a disk automatically and can breed with any ketucari gender-wise. These are all considered full litters to you, but you can do what you please with the cubs afterwards.
Starters with lineage skills, Wanderers, and Mechanix may not be rented for this event.
Splits are disabled for this event, as breedings here will only result in one cub every time.

Ketixi Semicustoms
Would you rather have something definite than a random breeding? Having trouble picking out a good pair? Have we got an option for you. You can trade in one of your breedings for a semicustom! The semi will come with 4 Common Markings, 2 Uncommon Markings, and 2 Mutations by default, and you can add on items to increase that amount.
Combination Mutations count as rare genes, but the 2 mutations can be used to make a combination mutation if desired.
To increase the default further, you can draw a colored headshot gift of someone else's Ketucari.com or Chasmho.me character (any species as long as they have an import!) for a Rare gene OR Feather type. To get BOTH a Rare gene AND Feather type, you can upgrade that gift art to a colored fullbody! Make sure the other person's character is marked as open for gift art, or ask first! Gifting art to starters and NPCs does not count for this.
This trade can only be done twice per Veluchasm event.

Finally, the KETU-NOMALY one! Various B-NOMALIES and Ketucari are curious about the breeding safety machine, wondering what it can make, the more casual among them wondering who to borrow to try for something interesting. Why don't you give them some ideas?
Design a K-NOM! Make sure you're using B-NOMALY traits (both B-Class and ANARCHIE allowed) for the physical features, and using the mandatory ones like Godkiller Face, Godkiller Hands, Long Tail, and Feather Duster! You have no restriction on how many Anarchic traits you can use, and Fogholder is allowed. Go wild. Fullbody with color or 300 words required.
You do not have to actually keep this design as a character, but if you want to, the option is available! Just take it to the link in Companion Races, use both the provided companion form and list all of the B-NOMALY traits used!

Technical Details
Ketixi are infertile and cannot breed. They can only be obtained in this event - they will not be able to be obtained via semicustoms, build changes, fogshards, or other methods.
KETU-NOMALIES can breed, but only with B-NOMALIES. They can be obtained in the Veluchasm event or through regular Companion-obtaining means, but cannot be obtained through Chasmhome MYOs. Godkiller traits for B-NOMALIES are only obtainable through these methods or through passing them down in breeding, they are not available in MYOs, trait swaps, and otherwise. KETU-NOMALIES will not have a lineage due to not being bred, except for certain raffle KETU-NOMALIES, this is just as a bit of a fun fact about where they came from.
Ketixi and KETU-NOMALIES will be uploaded to both Chasmhome and Ketucari’s lorekeeper. These imports will have separate stats and some separate details, such as which companions will be uploaded to them, what items they can equip, and so on. The Chasmhome upload can be used on Chasmhome and uses items/quests/prompts native to that site, and Ketucari’s can be used on Ketucari.com and uses Ketucari items/quests/prompts. Rolls of Ketixi and KETU-NOMALIES can double-dip on both Ketucari and Chasmhome. Visual changes carry over to both uploads - if a Ketucari background is used, it will display on both Ketucari and Chasmhome. If a K-NOM's trait is changed on Chasmhome, the image will be changed on Ketucari to reflect that. If an element is learned via Chasmhome and leveled up to the point that it can display, it can display on both Ketucari and Chasmhome. Similar things can double up - you can have an elemental blessing and display elemental radiation.
As a result of their double import, Ketixi need to be submitted to both design approvals. There is a Ketixi thread in Ketucari and Rixixi’s design approval - use two separate stash files, one with Ketucari’s import details and one with Rixixi’s, and drop these off in the individual threads.
However, to keep things simple, KETU-NOMALIES only need to be submitted to the regular companion approvals with a modified form. Please include both the form found at Companion Races as well as all B-NOMALY traits used in the design so we can properly approve them.
Ketixi have a limited gene pool as well as several genes combined from both species. To exist on the Ketixi list, there must be a similar gene on both species. The full list is HERE, on the second tab!
You may use geno-editing items on your Ketixi, such as tokens, fogshard pieces, and statues. Tokens do not have a limit for Ketixi. If using a token/fogshard gene that was fused from two genes for Ketixi to make a new unique gene (eg. Sunny Ember), either the relevant fogshard or token will work. (a Sun Chrono fogshard, an Ember token). Supercharged Alchemy fogshards cannot trade the unique fused genes to a Rixixi, as they cannot be on regular Rixixi.
Mutations must be added by the designer, mutation bases will not be made for Ketixi. Mutations that exist in Rixixi and Ketucari can both pass on the same geno - double albinism is possible, for instance. Horns use Rixixi rules - they are fully customizable and can go anywhere on the head. You can use Ketucari bases for Ketixi horns if desired, but you will have to move them to make them fit.
If a Rixixi Fur Mutation passes, you will be asked what feather type you want it to be replaced by. This may change in the future if we run this event again and more Fur Mutations are released by then!

Important News! Future of Group in relation to DeviantArt. New Things, too!

As I'm sure many have noticed, our activity on Deviant Art itself has dropped to almost zero. Those outside the discord have probably not seen much from us either which we apologize for. We might have a bit of a record of forgetting news updates, but we're hoping to have a monthly one during roll-over from here forward, at least to update things like the Monthly Bounty, announce Wanderer Slot winners and group events and such.
Thing is that that's been made all but impossible on DeviantArt. All news has resultingly been confined to ketucari.com and the discord server. And... honestly, that's not likely to change. We are moving away from DeviantArt as much as humanly possible.
All future events and news will be Here, on Ketucari.com
Why? Well, the short version is that DeviantArt has made itself hostile to the artists it claims to support and protect. We have documented evidence that they have been dishonest about DreamUp. They continue to ignore Groups, make DeviantArt as unfriendly to its users as it can be, and generally make life unpleasant for everyone on dA. Things like Sta.sh comments not giving notifications anymore, the deletion of notifications more than a year old which makes it hard to hold onto genos and breeding slot proofs, us not really having a way to notify users on dA about anything because we can't post journals FROM the group anymore.
So. We're slowly trying to move the entire group to ketucari.com.
All the future news updates? They're going to be here. If you aren't regularly checking ketucari.com for news we highly highly recommend that you start, because our dA news updates will be tapering off.
Events are fully ported to the site. All activities and events are here now, we have our own gallery, even!
The Orphanage is halfway ported. We have frameworks in place for a number of other features.
We're still in discussing how to port things like Packs and the Pack Hoard. We're making progress on that with Raptor's help.
So it's a long, slow, and very work intensive project, and things are frankly going to suck in the interim. We're currently split between two sites and as a result, one site flourishes while the other's kinda been left behind.
Which we Do apologize for. It's unfair that we've neglected the DeviantArt users, and we will try to do better when and where we can. But also, if you haven't moved to ketucari.com yet... you're going to need to to continue playing ketucari. We're sorry. It sucks, we know.
And in the meantime: It's really really difficult to put ketucari news on deviantart. Groups can't post journals anymore because you know, why would a group need a central location to update its members? Not everyone follows matriarchs-haunt so we can't just put news there, dA made navigating your notification feed a crapshoot based on how it's set up and if you're on mobile or not and frankly we've been at a loss on it for over a year.
However, more presently and in much happier news!
With the release of Wanderers Season 4 we have new genes out!
Specifically we have:

In addition, we have 5 new Skills (Specifically Boons!) to go with our crafting system!

Small news!

The discord's already been informed, but due to some weirdness on dA, we very hastily needed to port Design Approvals to ketucari.com
This was already planned to happen as part of our ongoing efforts to remove ourselves from Deviant Art, but has been forced to happen ahead of schedule.
To explain what caused this abrupt change: The Design Approval journal was forcibly flagged as Mature, with no way for us to undo it and no contact from DeviantArt to the Haunt informing us or giving us a chance to fix whatever was wrong, and thus far no response to the ticket about it. We discovered it was flagged by chance when Anar tried to view the journal while logged out. So far, no other journals are affected that we are aware of at this time, but if you find one please tell an admin via Notes or DMs immediately.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of moving off dA... this does mean that Design Approvals now requires a ketucari.com account. We had hoped to be able to give more warning about this, but deviantart forced our hand.
A larger news post about the migration off of deviant art is coming Soon.

The Plains of Messus' resources have been depleted, and Danuoc has risen to defend her land! Does your ketucari have what it takes to help bring down the Guardian of the Plains of Messus? Be sure to read up on raids to see how to participate!
Raid Specifics and Reminders
Firstly, keep in mind this raid, like all raids, will last a maximum of 1 month! You are free to enter ketucari at any point in the raid. There is no signup deadline!
Regardless of Danuoc's health, the raid will last for at least two weeks.
Since the raid boss has a set health this go around, there is a possibility that admins will adjust her health as needed. We will notify the group if so.
Pack Weapons are newly active as of this raid! Pack weapons can be activated if at least one player with a raid-entered ketucari in a pack depicts their ketucari and at least one other pack member interacting with weapons in some way (brandishing them, carrying them, setting them up, etc). Once Pack Weapons have been activated, humanoid forms get a 20% damage boost and missed attacks have a 50% chance to be corrected (doom is simply rerolled instead of having a 50% chance to be fixed)
Boss Details
The boss we will be battling is the majestic Danuoc! You can read more about her on her Pantheon page.
Danuoc's Attacks
If you need some inspiration, you may depict Danuic using one of her special attacks against your ketucari!
War Dance: After taking the fight to the land, Danuoc leaps around in confusing movements before suddenly pouncing on you.
Raging Rapids: Danuoc drags you by the tail into the rapids of her river, swinging you against river rocks like a ragdoll!
Death Roll:Danuoc grabs you in her jaws and drags you underwater before spinning around violently!
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR RAID ENCOUNTERS

You may submit 1 raid piece for your fighters and medic per day for the first two weeks of the raid. If the raid extends beyond 2 weeks, the submission limit will be lifted and you can submit as many pieces as you like.

Literature entries must be at least 100 words and be centered around your ketucari engaging in the battle. The boss should play a role in the story.

Art entries, at minimum, should be loose, uncolored sketches with the hint of a background resembling the respective zone. They do not require shading. The boss must be at least 50% visible.

There is a maximum of 4 ketucari per piece. Collaborations are allowed.

To submit a piece, please use the Raid- Fighter or Raid- Medic prompts on the ketucari website for each ketucari in the piece.

A seperate submission needs to be made for each ketucari in the piece and they will each need a form from below attached with their actions, as well as a link to both their DA import and Ketucari site import.

Each player may submit one support piece a day, and it must feature the same ketucari every time.

If you have multiple supports entered you can swap which support(s) is used or include them all, but they must be the same ones listed when signing up.

You must own the ketucari you use in the raid. No leasing is allowed.

You are allowed to enter one support ketucari if you have fighters/medics already participating in the raid. If you have no fighters/medics, you may participate with up to four support ketucari.

Support pieces can count as an adventure once the zone reopens as long as they meet adventure requirements.

In other words, no showing off your magic in an empty field!
